Swedish differences #3

Renewable energy.

Here is a difference that I couldn’t possibly poke fun at or have a giggle over. Renewable energy sources account for 52% of the Swedish energy production!

Walking or driving anywhere, I see multiple solar panels and wind turbines. You see adds on television for solar, hydro and wind power (something I’ve never witnessed in Australia). The house we live in has a huge solar panel in the yard used to heat our hot water (downside is Sweden ain’t all that sunny every day and we need to light a fire to heat the water when there is no sun).

Sweden is leaps and bounds ahead of Australia in regards to renewable energy, and it is just so nice to be able to be a part of that.

Wind power – vindkraft
Solar power – solkraft
Hydro power – vattenkraft
