Kyrkesund.

Another site we visited on the May long weekend, was the stunning harbour of Kyrkesund. Again, this probably doesn’t have a huge amount of excitement to every Swede – as we pulled up to the small harbour, my boyfriend looked slightly bored pacing like an unenthused father trying to hurry the kids back into the car on a family vacation, while I spouted about how it was just like a Swedish postcard, and exactly what everyone describes when I try to explain where I am living!

Eventually everyone sat down and enjoyed the warmth, watching the sailboats head in and out of the small harbour, discussing plans for the summer to travel on the ferry out to some smaller nearby islands. However, with the promise of ice cream in town, we eventually left and head home via Skärhamn to join the lines of hoards of Swedes embracing the warm weather and holiday.
